Fanning Falcon Driver 32.5″ YOW Surfskate
In the era of modern surfing there is no one who represents power surfing like Mick. His rail-to-rail surfing remains one of the best in the surfing community even after he retired from competition and the verticality of his turns has always been on the lips of everyone who saw him surf. And how do we translate all this into two surfboards? Well, you can’t really, but you can get close. And that’s what we’ve tried to do with this new Signature Series.
With the falcon as a unique and main symbol not only for its relation to speed, but also for its cultural connotation of determination and elegance – and a clear influence from oldschool skateboards, the Fanning Falcon has become a classic in our quiver. The Fanning Falcon Driver blends the outline of an oldschool skateboard with our most classic specs to become one of the most enjoyable skateboards in our catalog. The flat nose allows us to widen the wheelbase to 18.5″, which, along with the generous kicktail dimensions and large concave, gives us a better rail-to-rail ride.

Designed with a long 20″ wheelbase for those surfers looking to recreate their surfing stance in the streets, which will help you execute very radical turns with ease. It is molded with a Medium concave that provides a strong enough grip to keep your feet in place. It comes mounted with the Meraki S5 system and 66x51mm 78a Ura wheels, a set up that will help you perform wide turns and skids with control.

In 1974 Ben Aipa, the legendary Hawaiian surfer and shaper, made his mark in surfboard history with the development of ‘Da Sting’, a quick-turning shape he first made for Larry Bertleman. “I would watch him at the Lighthouse for a moment, and I could see what he was attempting to do… I knew he was the future, so I went back to the shop and imagined the kind of board dynamics he’d need to get the maneuvers he was attempting” Ben said.How perfect then that we would collaborate with the Aipa family to make a Carver surfskate model that also achieves the same quick turning, fast pumping maneuvers we pioneered for skateboards in 1996. The clear sugar coat grip shows off the classic blue flames, one of the most iconic airbrush designs in surfboard history.
