One of the most important design and architecture movements of the 20th century, Bauhaus introduced the revolutionary Modernist movement, which sought a break from the past in search for new forms of expression, the movement feels as fresh now as it did 100 years ago.
From Modernism arose such concepts as ‘Form Follows Function’, a maxim we apply in our own approach to design and innovation. Our core mission has always been a search for new ways to express the carved line, and with the Carvehaus we pay homage to the clean and bold aesthetic that brought a new way of seeing the familiar.

Carver Space Case C7 – 31.25″
When we become so immersed in something that we lose touch with anything outside of it we appear to have our heads in the clouds. Being called a Space Case in this context is truly a compliment.
It’s not easy in this bustling culture to disengage from the worries of the material world and drift off into the outer reaches of our inner universe, and thanks to artist Jasmin Meier aka Harley & J, we embark on this journey to an otherworldly state of mind.

Carver Grain C7 Surfskate Skateboard
We love wood, the way it flexes underfoot and springs back with a snap, and we dig the grain patterns that form when you slice a ringed log into flat sheets. This moire pattern is like the thumbprint of a tree, its encoded identity. It also makes us laugh when we consider that we’re printing wood grain ontop of natural grain, creating faux/real mashup. This dark wooden simulacra highlights the beautiful patterning of grain as a bold image layered atop the warm amber tone of clear maple.
